Annie Dillard once wrote, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” This is a winsome and timely reminder, calling us to attend to the reality that life is lived in the moment. It only ever happens right now. As Christians, this means that being conformed into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18), which is the primary vocation of every believer, happens through the minutiae of the day. And this touches every sphere of our lives, not least of which is marriage.
This marriage seminar is designed to focus in on practical ways we can grow in grace in the everyday life of marriage. Dr. Kevin Van Lant will bring biblical wisdom to bear on the common challenges that every marriage faces in the day to day. Why do you have the same fights over and over again? Does every conflict actually have to be resolved? What does it mean to love through listening well? As Christians, how does the gospel fuel forgiveness?
Both Jesus and the Apostle Paul held love up as the highest ideal and the fulfillment of the Law. At this seminar we don’t want to overcomplicate it. We want to remember that love is patient and, love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).
*while this seminar is geared towards marriage, much of the information presented applies to all relationships. So, if you are single we would be delighted to have you, and even strongly encourage it. Plus, if you plan on being married one day now is the best time to start preparing yourself.
