Prism Birthday Post #3: Our Next Steps

As you’ll hear today, we have taken an exciting step in our strategic plan. We will be sending our friends and fellow congregation members Steven & Tanya Crawford to plant a church that plants churches in St. Petersburg, Russia.  MISSION RUSSIA will be the first of what we hope will be many churches that Prism comprehensively supports: financially, spiritually, physically and emotionally.

In 2019 we will also be adding a Pastoral Staff Member. Our new Associate Pastor for Congregational Care will have the responsibility to not only be a spiritual resource available for our people, but will be responsible for building teams of caregivers and community group leaders. This responsibility is of the highest priority because we know that:

[A] The Scriptures command that leaders of the church facilitate and equip believers “for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).

[B] Because we are planning to obey the Scriptures and give generously to missions and mercy as our budget expands, we will not have the resources to simply add staff as our church membership grows. Our people will have to do much of the ministry to each other.

Our next steps involve you. For our mission to the world to bear fruit, every believer at Prism Church will have to take their position in the church family. Through your service you can strengthen the church, reach out to friends who need Jesus, and serve the Lord in culture to bring renewal so the world can see the manifestation of Jesus’ spiritual kingdom here on earth.
