One of our passions at Prism Church is helping believers be revived in their faith and move into maturity in their knowledge of God and themselves. Our pastoral care team is pro-counseling! One of the giants of Christian counseling and an influential part of our own philosophy of counseling past away last week. David Powlison leaves a powerful legacy that will far outlive him. Read about his life and consider buying his books!
It is amazing how rapidly technology has changed the patterns and habits of our lives in the last few years…and how that has transformed social interactions. Surely this has spiritual implications that we will be discovering over the course of the next few years, even as new change will bring new challenges. This article focuses on the way that technology impacts our sense of anxiety.
Everyone has their favorite conspiracy theory. Mine is that Michael Jordan’s 1993 retirement from basketball was actually a disguised ban for gambling. Conspiracies are usually based on highly unlikely events and are therefore almost always false. But sometimes……they turn out to be true! Here are five examples of this! Not included: that the Russian intelligence services bombed several apartment buildings in the early 2000s in order to justify a second war against Chechnya as a means of solidifying Putin’s popularity. That really happened!
I’m a big Doris Burke stan. You should be too.
A little bonus humor for the week!
